The Makgadikgadi international marathon is an annual event, established in 2023 as a full distance marathon through the collaborative efforts of stakeholders with a vision to establish a sustainable community focused running event.
The 2025 edition of the event is scheduled for the 23rd of August 2025 at Nata Bird Sanctuary in Nata Village. The Nata Bird Sanctuary is an iconic Important Bird Area (IBA), and famous for its high numbers of the flamingos.
