Botswana Police Service (BPS) process participants’ personal data collected during registration for the Commissioner’s Run for its legitimate interests in effectively organizing and managing the event, and for the purposes of registering participants, administering the event, communicating event information, ensuring participant safety, and maintaining event records.
Personal data will only be accessed by authorised BPS officers and event organisers and may be shared with relevant parties where necessary for the organisation and safe conduct of the event or as required by law. Photographs and video recordings may be taken during the event by BPS and external media organisations/journalists for reporting, official communication and publicity purposes.
BPS will implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and will retain it only for as long as necessary, in accordance with the applicable records-management requirements.
